The wide Ampezzo Valley and the Dolomites surrounding it make Cortina a privileged spot for sports enthusiasts and sporting events: the 1956 Winter Olympics, the 2021 World Ski Championships and the Winter Olympics once again in 2026, this time along with Milan.
This duality, city and mountain, is what Milan and the Cortina Winter Olympics need to show.” This is the first time the Olympic flag will be handed to Cortina d’Ampezzo since the 1952
The Old Railway “Passeggiata” is the easiest hike for families with children in Cortina d’Ampezzo: fresh air, stunning views of the Dolomites, and very little effort. Without a doubt, the Former Railway Track is the easiest and best hike with a stroller in the Dolomites – even a city stroller with small wheels!

Cortina’s ski area has become more joined-up, thanks to the new 2-way Skyline lift running between Son dei Prade and Bai de Dones. Son dei Prade is at the bottom of the Tofana di Mezzo sector (and is also reachable by bus from the centre of Cortina), whilst Bai de Dones is at the bottom of the 5 Torri sector, so the new 4.6km long, 15 minute gondola ride connects the previously separate sectors.
